PARENT CO-OP INFORMATION

  • At Good Shepherd Preschool, we believe that a child’s early learning experience is enriched when families actively participate in their growth. As a warm and welcoming community, we invite parents to join us in creating an environment where little hearts are nurtured, little minds are inspired, and big connections with Jesus and each other are formed. Your involvement as a parent assistant not only supports our teachers but also strengthens the bond between home and school, helping your child thrive in faith, learning, and love.

  • To ensure a collaborative and engaging experience, families are expected to serve as classroom assistants based on their child’s attendance:

    • 2-day per week families – Commit to one classroom shift per month (9 AM - 12 PM).

    • 3-day per week families – Commit to two classroom shifts per month (9 AM - 12 PM).

    • 5-day per week families – Commit to three classroom shifts per month (9 AM - 12 PM).

  • During assigned shifts, parents play an important role in fostering a nurturing and joyful learning environment. Responsibilities include:

    1. Morning Circle Time Support – Help children transition into the day by joining in and encouraging participation in songs, prayer, and Bible stories.

    2. Small Group Centers Helper – Engage children in block play, imaginative play, manipulatives, and reading activities.

    3. Letter & Number of the Week Activities – Assist with hands-on learning experiences, art projects, and games related to the weekly letter, number, shape, or color.

    4. Outdoor Play Supervision – Monitor and encourage safe gross motor play, including running, climbing, bike-riding, and dancing.

    5. Snack Time & Lunch Assistance – Help with handwashing, food prep, serving, and cleanup.

    6. End-of-Day Transitions – Assist with closing circle time and departure routines.

    7. Classroom Clean-Up – Support with tidying up materials, sanitizing surfaces, and resetting for the next school day.

By working together, we cultivate a loving and faith-filled space where every child feels cherished, supported, and prepared for a bright and compassionate future.

  • While we encourage all families to participate in the co-op, we understand that not every family is able to commit to classroom time. Families who choose not to participate in the co-op will pay an additional fee of:

    • $75 per month for the 2-day and 3-day programs

    • $125 per month for the 5-day program

By working together, we cultivate a loving and faith-filled space where every child feels cherished, supported, and prepared for a bright and compassionate future.
